Description

Loch Earn Sailing Club is a “Members Only” club located on the Northern shore of Loch Earn, approximately a quarter of the way from the Eastern shore of the loch.

The club was founded in 1954 and moved to its present home in 1957 when the owner of Drummond Estate gifted the land which currently houses the clubhouse and dinghy park. In 1959, an additional portion of land was handed over, which now houses the club’s associated caravan and camping site.

The club maintains close ties with the Drummond Estate to this day, with the honorary commodore title currently held by Baroness Wiloughby de Eresby.

Loch Earn Sailing Club is suitable for a wide variety of boats, from keelboats to dinghies. Shore storage and launching facilities are available for smaller boats, with larger vessels accommodated on the club’s moorings to the East of the beach.

The headland provides shelter from westerly and some south westerly winds, but the club is exposed as the winds move through South towards the East.

As a “Members Only” club, visitors are only permitted as guests of present members.

Member facilities are comprehensive, with multiple slipways, clubhouse, car park, camping and caravan park, dinghy park, and launching beach.

Around 1.5 miles East of Loch Earn Sailing Club, the village of St Fillans offers local amenities like shops, B&Bs, pubs and cafes.
