Description

Drummond Trout Farm is located on the Northern shore of Loch Earn, approximately a quarter of the way from the Western shore of the loch.

Part of the Drummond Estate, the Trout Farm offers various boating facilities such as boat hire and fishing permits (licenses available to purchase), as well as a small boat storage area and a slipway.

There is limited availability for slipway usage, so advance booking is essential, especially in the summer months and at weekends. At the time of writing, the author was told that there are approximately 3 launching slots per day available for members of the public to book.

Once you have a booking, there is plenty of space for parking and rigging your boat, and a fully staffed reception area for any questions. The reception has a small fridge to purchase cold drinks, and there are plenty of toilet and shower facilities on site.

The slipway faces East, so it is suitable for launching in most conditions except strong Easterly or South Easterly winds.

In addition to the slipway, there is a small marina with boats available to hire.

Adjacent to the boat storage area and slipway, there is a camping ground with space for cars and caravans.

The nearby village of Lochearnhead has some B&B facilities and small shops, and is about 20 minutes (1.5 miles) away by foot.
